- Joey
- A baby sugar glider.
- IP
- In pouch. A joey still developing in the mother's pouch.
- OOP
- Out of pouch. The point when a joey detaches from the nipple and begins spending time outside the pouch.
- Colony
- A social group of sugar gliders living together.
- Bonding pouch
- A pouch used to safely carry sugar gliders close during bonding time.
- Sleeping pouch
- A pouch used inside the cage for sleeping.
- Staple diet
- The main prepared part of a sugar glider diet plan.
- Calcium:Phosphorus ratio
- A nutrition ratio often discussed when balancing diet ingredients.
- Scent gland
- A gland used for marking. Intact males commonly have visible head and chest scent glands.
- Leucistic
- A white sugar glider color variation with dark eyes.
- Platinum
- A sugar glider color variation connected with specific genetics.
- Het
- Short for heterozygous. Often used to describe carrying a recessive gene.
